FROM AND FOR THE TERRITORIES

A solidarity-based, regenerative coffee company.

Café Herbolario was born from our conviction that economic empowerment is a foundation for good living, autonomy and the rootedness of communities in their territories, and a way to support their care for our forests, rivers, birds and girls.

Hands working with coffee

A network for life.

After more than twenty years working with Indigenous, Afro-descendant and farming communities across Colombia and Latin America, supporting their organizational strength, governance and defense of their territories, we wanted to start this company, which we envision as a regenerative platform.

At Café Herbolario, we seek to connect rural Latin American communities and their exceptional products with global consumers who want to connect with the stories, places, knowledge and practices behind their food.

We are currently working with communities from nine territories in Colombia. We hope to keep expanding our community network next year.

In each community, the coffee is grown by families who have spent their lives in their territories, caring for the forest, its biodiversity and water. They farm with care and affection, and also contribute socially, educationally and culturally.

At Café Herbolario, we want to celebrate the cultural and biological diversity of our territories, ancestral knowledge of caring for nature, and the abundance of life. Through our network, we want to weave a global community.

Network scope to update with the team before publication.
